Ensuring an engaged and high performing team spanning multiple generations doesn’t need to be complicated, or does it? Stereotyping, varied communication styles, training requirements and expectations of flexibility are just some of the challenges faced by People Leaders within the working environment. The AHRI CW HR Networking Committee invites all HR Practitioners, Operations or People Management professionals, and their guests, to join in the opportunity for rich group discussion, resource and strategy sharing.
In-person networking opportunity and light lunch to follow.
Target Audience
HR Practitioners of all career levels and roles will benefit from attending this forum. Both AHRI Members and Non-Members are welcome to attend.
Speaker: Jen Sharp, People and Culture Manager, Orange City Council
With a passion for coaching, culture and organisational psychology Jen has spent the past 20 years, leading teams in Human Resources, Training, Internal Communications, Business Improvement and Finance. Jen is also a Chartered Accountant! This mix of HR and Finance means that she has the business acumen to understand the real value of good Human Resources practices and impact of culture both our people and bottom line.
Jen was a long serving member of the Senior Leadership Team at Cadia Valley Operations (Newcrest Mining Ltd) when the mine was Australia’s largest gold producer. As the Manager of People and Culture at the mine she was responsible for over 3000 employees and contractors at the site. Since then, she has moved into Local Government, working with Orange City Council while at the same time expanding her successful Coaching and Mentoring company, Generate Coaching, and joining the board of First Choice Credit Union as a Non-Executive Director. She is an accredited Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) through the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL).
Jen has been a finalist in the NSW Women in Mining award and volunteered her time as a mentor for many mentoring programs over the past 10 years. As a facilitator, author, and co-author of many workshops and training courses including Difficult Conversations, Negotiation and Influence and Time Management, Jen gets a kick out of presenting new information to people and inspiring them to think, feel or do something differently.
