AHRI Awards 2023 Submission Guidelines

Organisation Awards Background

Thank you for applying for an AHRI Scholarship. AHRI have expanded their offering in relation to scholarships in 2023 and are looking for exceptional HR professionals who will benefit from a range of prizes and development opportunities. The following information will assist you in completing your submission.

Categories and eligibility

The next stage in the application process is to complete your online submission. This process will include:

  • contact details and information relating to the applicant,
  • submission of written submissions, verbal recordings or recorded presentations in response to the scholarship question.

Contact details and information

In completing the submission, you will be asked for the following information:

  • Application name (Applicant’s first and last name)
  • Contact name for the submission (may be the same as the Application name)
  • AHRI Membership number to confirm current membership of the applicant
  • Contact details (phone & email) for the submission
  • Position title and organisation of applicant
  • Demographic information regarding the organisation, sector, location etc which allow applicants to be assessed in context to the environment in which they operate
  • Additional information regarding eligibility for award:
    • AHRI Student Scholarship: Is the applicant of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent?
    • AHRI Student Scholarship: Has the applicant recently migrated to Australia?

Submission statements

You will then be asked to write a brief statement (100 words MAX) introducing the applicant and summarising why they should be considered for this scholarship.

Applicants will then be asked to upload their response to the scholarship question. Submissions should be written in the first person.

What do you believe to be the most valuable thing you have learned in your study of HR, and how have you/will you apply this in your current/future roles to deliver value as an HR professional/future HR leader?

Judging criteria

  • Appropriate depth of HR knowledge based on current level of study and commitment to ongoing development.

Submission question

Which of the capabilities in the Australian HR Framework are you looking to develop further to improve your impact as an HR Professional, and how can you develop this capability in yourself and others as a current/future HR leader?

Judging criteria

  • Appropriate depth of HR understanding based on current level of capability and commitment to ongoing development.

Submission question

How have you seen HR leadership evolve during your career to date? How will you look to influence this evolution as you continue to develop and grow as an HR leader? You may wish to include the role of technology in this evolution now and into the future.

Judging criteria

  • Appropriate depth of understanding of HR Leadership based on current capability and commitment to ongoing development.
  • Well-developed and articulated perspective on HR in Australia.
